FEDERATIA D.G.T.

D.G.T. Federation was established through the partnership of two NGOs: D.G.T Association and GEO CLUB Association from Romania. It is a new organisation, recently started from the desire to create opportunities for youngsters from Ialomita, Romania. Since the region is not so rich in cultural, educational and self-development activities for youngsters and adults, the two organisations decided to identify the needs of the community and bring more international and intercultural opportunities to the local community.

Our aim is to create a strong culture of engagement in the community, to motivate youngsters and adults to involve more and help them discover new perspectives, find solutions for the problems that they identify locally and support them in organising their own activities and projects in the future. We want to provide an environment of creativity, tolerance, diversity and solidarity, where everyone feels free to share their opinions, thoughts and feelings, and come up with new ideas and initiatives for a better community.

Since Erasmus+ gives us many opportunities to become more aware of the European spirit, we want to bring the feeling into the people' lives and make them more aware of the possibilities that exist through this program. We strongly believe that this could help them understand better the differences between different cultures, to be more open minded regarding different opinions and develop themselves through environments dedicated to self-development and growth.

The federation's objectives are aimed at development of the local community by supporting youth to discover themselves through international opportunities and approaches:

• Find the needs of the local community and motivate youngsters to find creative solutions to these issues.
• Bring more cultural and social events in the community and offer opportunities to the youth.
• Promote non-formal education and present to the community the benefits of these types of methods.
• Create a spirit of solidarity with the other European countries and help the community to meet new cultures, perspectives and traditions.
• Support youngster's initiatives regardless of the topic and idea, emphasizing different activities, projects and initiatives of local people who want to put ideas into practice, discover topics, share their knowledge or learn together with other youngsters.
